This will truly be a stick-built house. They spent all day measuring and cutting all the pieces needed to assemble your house. Middle pieces are all neatly stacked and labeled, and edge pieces are laid out in their proper places.
The framing crew worked hard and got the sub-floor laid before the incoming tropical storm. AdvanTech won’t even blink at 3″ of rain.
They brought in trucks full of dirt and gravel to do the preliminary grading on your lot. The driveway is nearly flat, and slopes just slightly from right to left. The front yard on the guest bedroom side slopes steeply down from the sidewalk/driveway.
Gravel has been spread throughout the crawl space. The concrete pad under the guest room has been poured. Footers and corners of the foundation have been filled with concrete.
The piping for the French drain has been laid around the foundation.
The foundation has been waterproofed, and a trench has been dug around for installation of the French drain.
The area under the guest room has been prepped and formed so the concrete pad can be poured.
After the weekend and more than 1.5 inches of rain, the crew was able to finish laying the foundation today.
The left side of the foundation was completed today. The crawl space door is 10 cinder blocks high. For reference, I included a picture of me standing in the doorway–I am nearly six feet tall in my sneakers.
The footers were poured today–they worked from 7:00 until nearly 4:00. The foundation work should begin in a couple of days.
Severe storms last night (high winds, lightning, hail, tornado warnings) knocked over the twisty trees at the back of the lot. They will be removed, but possibly not until the final grading is done, since they fell toward the back of the lot and will not be in the way of construction.
An additional porta-potty has been delivered. Must be expecting an abundance of laborers in the coming weeks?
