January 29–Busy, busy, busy

So much stuff going on today. We’ll start outside and work our way in. They cleared Lot 15 today, so you’ll have neighbors in about a year.

The painters returned with the correct color paint/stain for your house. The corbels have been re-stained and look good next to your gutters. The porch ceiling appears to be more paint than stain–not sure if that is the true Sherwin Williams product or if they had to get an actual paint to cover the oops stain from Friday. They brought in naked shutters from the other house, and those have been stained and are drying in your living room. Back porch ceiling has not been done yet, because Dennis and Matt were busy out there installing the porch railings.

Inside, you’ve got an oven and doorstops!

January 26–Appliances and closets

Outside, the gutters have been put up. Rain chains will be installed later.

On the inside, error correction in the guest bath. The short, stumpy shower arm has been replaced by the longer one you provided.

The heated towel bar is finally up!!!

The vent hood, range, microwave, and dishwasher are all in. I’m guessing the installer needs a second pair of hands to heft the oven up into its spot in the wall.

Wire shelving is complete in guest bedroom, coat closet, and linen closet.

January 15–Plugging away

Everybody is in and out, trying to finish up last minute projects. The painters are staining stair treads, hand rails, and posts.

The electricians installed more fixtures, including the stair light that had the broken glass and vanity lights in your master bath. The bathroom fan is also up, but they are waiting to put up the towel bar until the painters do some touch-up work on that wall.

The glass door has been hung on your shower. The plumbers also finished hooking up the handheld shower head.

January 10–Plumbing continues

Outside, your driveway has been graded and prepped for concrete to be poured.IMG_3276

Inside, the plumbers have been hard at work. All of your toilets have been relocated to their proper locations. The shower head with the extender has been installed (it does not appear to extend very much).

They have also installed the tankless water heater in the garage (vent pipes and gas line not yet hooked up).

January 4–Trim work

The painters have been painting doors, and I think touching up walls and trim. Dennis and Matt have been in to do the trim work in your bathrooms.

Plumbers are supposed to work Friday to get all the fixtures installed.

December 23–Two weeks worth of work

Lots of things have been happening in the past two weeks. Outside, the dumpster has been removed (this is a sign work is in the final stages). Exterior lights were installed.

All of your interior doors were installed. Trim work was completed–windows, doors, crown moulding, baseboards, bead board, coffered ceilings.

The electricians put up the foyer light, installed the other three dimmer switches.

Vinyl flooring has been installed in the half bath. The new vanity has not arrived yet.

Countertops and sinks have been installed in the kitchen, master bath, and guest bath.

There’s been 1.75″ of rain since midnight, so I did not slog around to the crawl space to see if anything had changed under the house.
